On the 11th, the Korea Franchise Industry Association (Chairman Jeong Hyeon-sik, hereafter referred to as "the Association") announced a strategic partnership with JB Group to help small business owners struggling with sluggish consumer spending.
Partnership Agreement for Sales Growth
On February 9th, at the SBA International Distribution Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, the Association and JB Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to encourage franchise member stores to adopt JB Group’s integrated mileage system as a way to boost sales.
Kang Seok-woo, Executive Vice President of the Association, stated during the ceremony:
“Despite the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, small business owners continue to face challenges due to inflation and stagnant consumer spending. By effectively linking JB Group’s user-friendly integrated mileage system with our franchise members, we aim to support them in recovering their sales.”
JB Group operates an ICT-based platform that incorporates a postpaid advertising system into its integrated mileage program. Business owners only pay for advertising after actual sales have been generated, ensuring a more precise and cost-effective match between advertising costs and outcomes. The system also helps drive customer traffic through rewards, promoting sales growth and improving profitability for small business owners.
The Association will actively promote and guide its members on using JB Group’s mileage system to ensure that rewards offered to consumers can be seamlessly redeemed at franchise member locations. JB Group, in turn, will provide special benefits to participating members and create a positive feedback loop by offering consumers mileage-based rewards.
Both organizations plan to collaborate on various initiatives, including the Association’s K-Franchise Comprehensive Support System and Korea’s largest startup expo, IFS Franchise Seoul, to further enhance awareness and adoption of the integrated system. They also agreed to work together on future improvements and expand the program’s positive impact across the industry.
The signing ceremony was attended by more than 10 officials, including Kang Seok-woo, Executive Vice President of the Association, Park Ho-jin, Secretary General, and Kim Do-hyun, CEO of JB Group.
